30 August 2018, Thursday, the occupation's municipality implanted a metal gate between "Damascus gate" and  "An-Nasara" quarter, Workers from the municipality removed part of the stones in the linking wall, and installed a metal gate and closed it.

The gate is in the small square in the right side from "Damascus Gate" It used to have small stores, a cafeteria and public bathrooms but the municipality removed all the stores three years ago, They only left the public bathrooms in the now empty square.

One of the merchants told an LRC observer :

Obviously, the gate is for the occupation's security use, we thought that it will be a walkway for tourists and inhabitants of the near neighborhoods, but after the municipality removed the stones, installed the gate and closed it , probably it will be used in what they consider argent situations, especially that some settlers live near the new gate in "An-Nasara" quarter and "Al-Gabsha" quarter, it will be used to provide easy entry and exit for them in certain cases.   

Few years ago, the occupation authorities implanted a gate in the city's wall close to "Al- Kitan" cave (Jews name it Solomon's cave" it lies between Herod's and Damascus gates the occupation municipality have implanted it as an emergency exit.

It is not easy to foretell what are the occupation's plans in occupied Jerusalem, but whatever they where, they serve them solely. whether it was closing, opening, constructing or demolishing they are all different ways that serve one aim, which is to control everything inside occupied Jerusalem, change its characteristics, falsify facts and transform its Palestinian character to a Jewish one.
