Wednesday, in the early morning hours, the occupation's bulldozers destroyed Al-Mahata (the station) tent in Battir  on the pretext of building without permission. The tent was constructed in 2017 close to the train station in Battir to be a place for farmers to rest after working in close agricultural lands.

The tent's location by the train station on the borders of the occupied territories 1948 in Battir and the beautiful natural view made it an attractive site for tourists to rest and watch natural views, the owner made it a source for income, it became a break.

The occupation's municipality in Jerusalem delivered 3 notices to the owner request to remove the tent , claiming that it is built within its borders .

About Battir[1]:

The village is located 7km to the western side of Bethlehem. It is edged by the occupied lands of 1948 from the north and west, al-Walaja village from the northeast, and Husan village from the south.

Battir has a total population of 4696 people until 2017 and has a total land area of 6681 dunum, 832 of which are built-up area.

Oslo Accords divided the lands of Battir as follows:

  • 1467 dunums are classified as area B
  • 1467 dunums are classified as area B
