Description:

Izdebar settlers set up a new caravan in a Beit Ta’mir land belongs to Ta’mreh family, the targeted plot is only a part of a vast area settlers took over and surrounded with barbed wires, and prohibited its owners from accessing it, they also carry out violent attacks against farmers in neighbor lands such as: torching trees, polluting with sewage water, prohibit posturing, in addition to many other forms of violence.

Colonization and Wall Resistance Bethlehem office head Hassan Brijiya told LRC:

“Izdebar was built on a private Palestinian lands belongs to farmers from Jeb Theeb and Beit Ta’mir , settlers set up caravans and expand slowly to devour more and more of the Palestinian land.

The fanatic settlers of Izdebar carry out daily harassments against people of Jeb Theeb, all theses violent attacks are protected and supported by the occupation forces.”

Like several before, the caravan may quickly become an outpost with facilities and water and electricity supply, then in the coming Israeli governmental elections the outpost along with many others similar to it will be legalizes, Israeli right wing governments always seek to please Israeli settlers in the Wes Bank.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 was adopted on 23 December 2016. It concerns the Israeli settlements in "Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem". The resolution passed in a 14–0 vote by members of the U.N. Security Council (UNSC). Four members with United Nations Security Council veto power, China, France, Russia, and the United Kingdom, voted for the resolution, but the United States abstained.

The resolution states that Israel's settlement activity constitutes a "flagrant violation" of international law and has "no legal validity". It demands that Israel stop such activity and fulfill its obligations as an occupying power under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Beit Ta'mir:[1]

5km to the southeast of Bethlehem, Beit Ta'mir is edged by Breid'a and Hindaza from the north, Janata area from the west and Za'tra town from the east.

With a total land area of 40077 dunums, of which 116 dunums are the town's built-up area, Beit Ta'mir is home for 1596 people (2017 census).

The Israeli occupation confiscated 260 dunums from the town to construct the following:

Al David colony that was established in 1999 on 65 confiscated dunums.

bypass road 356 that is opened on 185 confiscated dunums

A military camp that is set up on a 10 dunum area

According to the lands classifications of Oslo Accords, the lands of Beit Ta'mar are categorized as follows:

  • 742 dunums are classified as area A.
  • 1601 dunums are classified as area B.
  • 1734 dunums are classified as area C.
