One victim of this violation, Rani Hilal, told a field researcher from Land Research Center the following:

In 2020, I initiated the establishment of an entertainment park with the total cost of 180 thousand shekels (approx. $ 54,704). It was planned to be founded in the nearby of the town residences. I was surprised to find the stop-work notice, what harm does the occupation see that this park would create? It is just a harassment and a deprivation of our basic rights”.

The mayor of Beir Ur al-Tahta said that the town has been witnessing numerous violations all targeting the right to land and housing. Around nine residences were targeted with stop-work over the past ten years and a number of land parcels were declared as “State Land”. Moreover, residential expansion in the nearby of 422 Israeli bypass road was banned for Palestinians. All that being said, the economic wheel in the area was negatively affected, rendering more families to evict the area.
