Demolition of an Under-Construction house in Al-‘Aqaba village / Tubas Governorate
Violation: Demolition of a house on the pretext of building without a license.
Location: ‘Aqaba village / Northeast Tubas City.
Date: January 30th 2022.
Perpetrators: The building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration.
Victims: citizen Ibrahim Talib.
Description:
A Massive army force accompanied by the building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration raided Al-‘Aqaba village north east Tubas city. According to eyewitnesses, A Civil bulldozer accompanying the forces leveled an under construction house with a total area of 140 m2 that consists of one floor , on the pretext of building without a license according to the occupation . The targeted house belongs to citizen Ibrahim Talib from Al-‘Aqaba , who supports a family of 6 (4 children and 3 females).
During January, the building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration served a notice numbered (21681) to the house, in order to demolish it within 96 hours, on the pretext of building without a license, the notice was issued in reference to military order (1797) , which targets new constructions in area C.
Noteworthy, the affected submitted a petition to the supreme court against the demolition order, the court however during its session in January 25th 2022 , refused the petition and ordered to demolish the house.

During the past years , the occupation demolished several houses at the village , in order to force people of Al-‘Aqaba area to vacate the location, after declaring it as a closed military zone.
About Al-Aqaba:[1]
It is located 5 km to the north east of Tubas, Al-Aqaba is surrounded by Ibziq (north), Tayaseer (west) , Al-Malih (east), Yarza hamlet (south).
Al-Aqaba has a population of 168 people in 2017 censes.
Its total area is 5057 dunums with only 40 dunums designated for construction according to the Israeli organizational plan.
There are 50 dunums exploited by colonization.
According to Oslo conventions, all of the villages lands are within C area.
