Halt of work Notices for houses and Facilities in Silwad / Ramallah governorate
Violation: Halt of work notice for a house and four structures.
Location: Silwad town / Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate.
Date: May 25th 2022.
Perpetrators: The building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration.
Victims: Khamees ‘Ayyad , Abdelrazeq Mohammed , ‘Odeh Basher, Samer ‘Ayyad.
Description:
Wednesday, May 25th 2022, the building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration raided Silwad northeast Ramallah, and served a halt of work notice on the pretext of building without a license in area “C” according to Oslo accords.
Affected citizen Khamees ‘Ayyad told LRC:
“Cattle breeding is my main source of income, about 8 months ago, I built an agricultural room to take care of my farmland, but wherever we go and whatever we do we’ll never get away from the occupation’s violations.”
According to the military order, the occupation sat May 22nd 2022 as the date of the building and organization session through the Colonization subcommittee in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structure.

Mr.Kamal Shokha from Silwad municipality told LRC:
“Silwad’s built up area is about 3260 dunums , which is not sufficient for the towns’ needs for expansion, in addition to the occupation’s violations represented in closing vast areas of lands west the town , and prohibiting expansions towards “’Ofra” illegal colony , and other violations that restricts constructions.”
More than 32 residential and agricultural structures is Silwad received threats from the occupation on the pretext of building without a license , in addition to closing the area 3 times , and demolishing a number of structures.

It is located to the northeastern part of Ramallah with a total land area of 18,400 dunums of which 5,100 is built-up area. The town populates around 10,000 people according to the data of Silwad local council.
Colonies like Ofra and Amona, which are founded on the eastern part of Silwad, confiscated more than 21% of the town's lands.
