Perpetrator: The Israeli occupation civil administration.

Victims: Citizen Adel Sa’ad.

Description: A vehicle from the Israeli occupation civil administration raided Beit Sakariya hamlet in May 15 and delivered Halt of construction order on a residential structure, on the pretext of building before getting a proper license.

The order requests the immediate stoppage of construction and sets June 11 as the subcommittee session to decide the fate of the place.

The threatened structure was built to be a summer residence for the family, and is meant to protect Sa’ad’s land from colonial expansion.

A villager from Beit Sakariya told LRC observer:

“The Israeli occupation confiscated wide area from the town’s lands to build 6 colonies and 3 outposts. Moreover, they opened roads to connect the illegal colonies with each other, which imposed many difficulties on the town’s people lives, but we will never give up on our lands”

About Beit Sakariya hamlet:[1]

Khallet Beit Sakariya (Beit Sakariya hamlet) is located some 5 km east of the 1949 Armistice Line (Green line) and about 8.5 km to the southwest of Bethlehem city. It's considered part of Nahhalin village cluster along with Khallet al Balluta (Al Balluta Hamlet), all comprise a total area of 17249 Dunums. Khallet Beit Sakariya is a home to 142 inhabitants, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of statistics – 2007 and sets on a total built of 49.5 dunums.
