The targeted plot lies close to an illegal colonial outpost and road which makes it a subject of Israeli assaults.

The colonial outpost

Qasim Ayesh , son of the plot’s owner told LRC observer:

“Settlers continue to harass us, but we are persistent to stay present and cultivate our land to protect it from colonial expansion”

Noteworthy, Mohammad lives in Artas and has to pass through the mountain each day early in the morning to reach his plot and stays there until sunset, working in cultivation. The Israeli occupation obstructs any developmental projects in the area; But Mohammad’s family hired a lawyer and prepared the necessary papers hoping to protect their cistern.

Hassan Breijeieh  from Colonization and Wall resistance committee told LRC observer: “ Citizen Mohammad just regained his plot with a court order after the Israeli occupation confiscated it claiming it is  a “state’s land” but he is still subjected by Israeli assaults.”
