Location: Ein Hama , Wad Khanzir , Al-Karnat – Jaba’a village / Bethlehem governorate.

Date: August 21st 2019.

Perpetrators: Beit ‘Ayin settlers.

Victims: People of Jab’a village.

Description:

Wednesday, August 21st 2019, Beit ‘Ayin settlers trespass vast areas of private land in Jab’a village, the fanatic settlers planted the targeted lands with forest trees and tried to annex it to Beit ‘Ayin settlement.

Jab’a village council head told LRC:

“Most of the targeted lands are olive groves, but the real owners are not allowed to access them without coordination with the occupation forces.”

Many farmers in Al-Jab’a wait patiently for the olive harvesting season as it provides them with good income, but the Israeli occupation start the harvesting season with lands access bans, and settlers’ harassments.

Banning Palestinian farmers from accessing their lands is a violation of international agreements and conventions, The Israeli government confiscates Palestinian lands to build illegal colonies on them, denying the indigenous people their right of using their natural resources including water , soil, etc.

Agriculture is the keystone of Palestinian economy, but now it became exhausted by Israeli arbitrary measurements, which affected the livelihood of the great majority of the Palestinian society.
