Settlers Cut Down 9 olive trees in Madama village / Nablus governorate

Violation: Cutting down olive trees.

Location: Madma village / Nablus governorate.

Date: December 23rd 2017.

Perpetrators: Settlers of “Yitzhar”.

Victims: Farmer Ayman Nassar.

Description:

Settlers escalated their attacks in the Palestinian territories especially the in the southern suburbs of Nablus. In Saturday December 23rd 2017, a group of fanatic settlers from “Yitzhar” raided Madma village to “An-Netshat” area, and sabotaged 9 olive trees.

Reportedly, the damages reached 9 olive trees aging 15 years old, 7 of them were partially damages and 2 were completely destroyed, The targeted olive grove is located within B area and belong to farmer Ayman Nassar from Madma.

This attack is the second of its type in less than 48 hours, it was preceded by another one in Thursday December 21st, during which fanatic settlers damaged 14 olive trees that also belong to Ayman Nassar.

Madama is 12km to the southeast of Nablus and is surrounded by Iraq Burin and Till (north), Asira al Qibliya (west), Burin (east), and Urif (south).

According to 2014 population projections , Madama is inhabited by 2262 people.

It has a total area of 3824 dunums, 190 of which are built-up area of the village.

The Israeli occupation confiscated 118 dunums for Yitzhar colony which was built on Madama lands in 1983. The colony is inhabited by 400 colonists.

The Israeli occupation is not only taking over land and water resources of the village, but they are also targeting Palestinians residing there through attacking them on almost a daily basis.
