During November, 2010, 66 Jewish families have been attracted to come and live in Ma’ale Hazetem colony built over Al Ghoul family lands in Ras al ‘Amoud soon after the completion of the second phase of its establishment.

The Israeli Channel 10 declared on November 8, 2010 that the number of Jewish families there has reached 250.

The establishment of the colony has begun in March, 2009 with a blueprint for 60 colonial residences.

The plan is to expand the colony’s area after handing the colony council the Jordanian Police compound.

It also includes the deportation of the rest of the Palestinian families in the region.

The colonists continue their aggressions against the Sports Club after the destruction of the basketball court’s wall and tking over part of its property.
