The Israeli Supreme court adjourns hearing the petition of Batn Al-Hawa residents against displacing them/ Jerusalem

2018-06-10

Batn Al-Hawa residents in Silwan, on the south side from Al-Aqsa mosque, are fighting against forced displacement. Colonial institutions are trying to steal their homes , claiming that they the neighborhood is a Jewish property , "Ateret cohnaim" institution have been working densely to take over houses in the neighborhood and expelling their residents. In addition, thave been filing law cases against residents of the neighborhood asking them to leave their homes claiming that the land where the houses  are built is a property for Yemeni Jews who inhabited Batn Al-Hawa 1881.

10 June 2018, the Israeli supreme court adjourned hearing the petition of Batn Al-Hawa residents objecting on the moving out orders. "Ateret Cohnaim" distribute notices to make Palestinians leave their homes , that is a clear prove that the occupation's supreme court is completely biased to the colonial institutions, adjourning the hearing means that there is an approved plan to dislocate the resident and locate settlers in their places.

Mr Zuhair Al-Rajabi  head of Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood committee , what is so called " Israeli administrator general of lands " claims that the land where Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood is built (1.200) dunums is a religious endowment , In reality it is a state domain, and the transfer of property that was conducted by the "Israeli administrator general of lands" is illegal as there are no supporting documents that they own the land.

There are 85 Palestinian families of 1200 members , they are all threatened to be displaced. There are 4 outposts in the neighborhood, now occupied by Jewish families (Al-Assal home , Yunetal home , Raheel home and lately the newly leaked Al-Qawasmi home)

Batn Al-Hawa include land numbers  573 , 84 , 96 and 97, all together of a total space (5.200) dunums, "Ateret Cohnaim" claim that they own the land . This colonial plan threatens 85 families of 12000 members of expulsion.

It is clear that what colonial foundations are doing supported by the occupation state is ethnic cleansing against people of Jerusalem  to uproot them from their lands and locate the Jewish settlers in their place.
