The closure was recommended by the Israel security agency “Shin bet” but in reality it is a political resolution, obviously, the occupation’s intention is to end any existence of Palestinian institutions in occupied Jerusalem. In the closure order, Ardan pointed out that the closure was commanded by the Israeli intelligence.

The closure campaign hit Orient house, Palestinian Society prisoner’s club, Chamber of Commerce, the East Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce, and the Supreme Council for the Arab Tourism Industry, the Center for Palestinian Studies and the Office for Social and Statistical Studies. Ardan Asserted, Any attempt by the Palestinian Authority to gain a foothold in Jerusalem will be stopped immediately.

The closure comes in line with Israeli attack over Palestinian cultural and educational institutions, in an attempt to isolate the city from its Palestinian heritage, and impose the occupation’s control. The occupation is trying to erase the cultural identity of Jerusalem, by stopping any cultural activities that are funded or organized by Palestinian sides such as honoring events for teachers and doctors or workshops.
