Israeli Settlers sabotage crops in a Palestinian farm - Yanun / Nablus governorate

Violation: sabotaging crops.

Location : Yanun village / Nablus governorate.

Date: 12/02/2019.

Perpetrator: “Talla 777 “ outpost.

Victims: Farmers from the village.

Description:

Tuesday, Morning 12 February 2019, A group of settlers from “Talla 777” outpost , brought 100 cows into a Palestinian wheat farm (75 dunums). Naturally, the cows destroyed the crops.

The targeted land belongs to : Abdul Raheem Bani Jaber (25 dunums), and Rashid Marar (50 dunums).

Farmer Rashid Marrar told LRC reporter:

“About 8:00 in the morning, I saw settlers brining cows into my land, I went there with my sons and several people from the village, when we approached the location they started threatening us with their guns, and they only got out after the cows left massive damages in the crop.”

About Al-Yanun:[1]

Yanun is 15 km to the east of Nablus city. There is not any road network that connects the village to the city except the old road which was renovated only lately. The street leads to 'Aqraba village. The village borders extend to reach 'Aqraba, Beit Furik, and 'Awarta villages. To the east there is Makhola colony and by-pass Road 90. The total area of the village is 16,000 dunums including 1,668 dunums built up area.

According to Palestinian central bureau of statistics, there are 92 people living in the village, most of them belong to Bani Jaber and Marar clans. Some of the residents are refugees originally from the occupied village of 'Ajur which was occupied and destroyed back in 1948. Itamar colony has been expanding on the village lands as it took over more than 503 dunums from the village till now.
