Wednesday, 12^th of June 2019, the occupation’s municipality carried out ravaging works close to Damascus gate area, they also placed a fence to the eastern area of the gate that reaches out to Cave of Elijah.

There are number of workers and bulldozers working on removing  trees and tiles, and according to the occupation’s municipality the area will wetness a project of  eight months.

Noteworthy, most of these works are carried out under claims of “Public interest” and “enhancing the city’s appearance”. However, the real goal is to Judaize the city and change its Arab Palestinian identity. Such projects are carried out by the occupation’s municipality or the nature authority, both of them are controlled by the Israeli far-right racist government . There are also several bodies in Jerusalem that work day and night to change the historical identity of the city , such as the Israeli national fund  and other right wing institutions that was established for this purpose.

 Palestinians in Jerusalem, under the occupation’s municipality rule are living in a nightmare, especially that the municipality refuses to provide them with licenses for building, and demolishes their homes, and ignores the needs of Arab neighborhoods like Silwan, Jabal Al-Mukkabir, Sour Bahir and Al-Isawiya, at a time the Palestinian authorities are not allowed to work inside Jerusalem , and provide such neighborhoods with facilities.
