Second time in 48 hours, Israeli Occupation Forces demolish and confiscate structures in the Palestinian Jordan Valley area

Details:

Following a demolition operation carried out by the Israeli Occupation Forces on February 01, 2021, a second demolition operation was implemented in the area of Humsa al-Fauqa, rendering several Palestinian families homeless.

It is reported that a force from the Israeli Occupation Army backed by two dozers and trucks raided the hamlet, demolished residential and livestock tents, and confiscated other tents that were donated by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in coordination with Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.

During operation, the attacking force imposed a closure on the area, banning Palestinians to move in the area while demolishing tents and confiscating others besides some water tanks. Not only, some portable toilet were also appropriated during the operation.

In the evening of the same day of attack, a force from the Israeli Occupation Army raided the area in attempt to prohibit the volunteers and activists from setting up new tents to shelter the residents who lost their tents earlier in the day.

Not only, during the operation, the attacking force confiscated three vehicles. Below is information about the confiscated cars:

  • Three Mitsubishi vehicles belonging to Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission CWRC
  • One Nisan and one Mitsubishi vehicle belonging to Tubas Directorate of Agriculture.
  • One Mitsubishi vehicle belonging to Tammun village municipality.
  • A private Subaru car belonging to citizen Ayman Bani Oudeh. 


In a similar incident, the Israeli Occupation Authorities demolished on November 13, 2020 demolished the entire hamlet with the properties of eleven families (approximately 70 structures; agricultural and residential). The demolition was justified based on the decision of Israel’s Higher Planning and Construction Committee made in 2020. The decision was reported made on the claim that the area is designated for “Military.
