Israeli Occupation Authorities issue demolition order on a whole neighborhood in Jerusalem

On August 03, 2017 employees from Israel Civil Administration accompanied by an army force raided the Bedouin community of Al-Fheidat founded in Anata village in Jerusalem and delivered 23 demolition order for owners of several structures.

It should be noted that the orders targeted residential and agricultural structures. Not only, a confiscation order was served on a parcel of land used as a parking space with a total area of two dunums and a car workshop with a total of 150m2.

Despite the fact the most of the targeted structures were built during the Jordanian era of ruling over Palestine, the occupation notified them on the claim of "unlicensed construction". Noteworthy, only three residences were built in 2004.

An affected citizen, Majdi Fheidat told Land Research Center the following:

"When the orders were delivered, the owners sought attorney Mousa Khazarmeh to follow up on the cases and he managed to obtain an injunction to stop the demolition. At time, we managed to prepare all legal documents to apply for building permits.

In 2014, Israel Civil Administration came back to the location and pointed out that the neighborhood will be demolished . Eventually, the demolition was carried out today". The following table shows information about the affected families and their residences :

It is reported that the neighborhood is only 10 meters away from the Israeli military camp Anatot. Also, the area is fully bordered by the apartheid wall in addition to other military watchtowers.
