Description:

On the night of Saturday, April 14, 2024, the northern Jordan Valley witnessed new attacks by groups of colonists from several outposts and settlements in the area.

In Ain Al-Hilweh, a key area in the northern Jordan Valley, more than 50 colonists attacked agricultural tents in the community. The colonists partially burned two residential tents, damaged their interiors, and stole 80 sheep that were taken towards the nearby settlement of "Maskiyot," located just 800 meters from the community.

Fathi Alyan Daraghmeh, a local farmer, recounted to LRC researcher:

“As night fell, we were startled by a large group of armed colonists from the 'Maskiyot' settlement approaching us. Since no one else was in the area except for my family, we immediately fled our home and hid among the rocks on a nearby hill—my wife, children, my sister Fatima, and I. The colonists raided our tents, partially burned them, and stole the sheep that were in the adjacent barn. They also vandalized the contents of my home and my sister Fatima's home. Their presence lasted about 15 minutes before they withdrew. After they left, my children and I extinguished the fire with water and soil. The fire had partially consumed the tents, and the sheep had been taken to the settlement.”

In addition to the previously mentioned incidents, the colonists also raided the Bedouin community in the Farisiyah area (Naba’ Ghazal). They targeted a solar power station that consists of nine solar panels and an electrical transformer. The colonists vandalized the solar station by throwing stones, breaking the solar panels, and cutting the wiring network.

It is noteworthy that the solar power station was implemented by the international organization "Action Against Hunger" to support the community. This community is home to 9 Bedouin families (48 individuals), including 26 women and 28 children.

Additionally, along the bypass road known as Route 90, colonists set fire to two vegetable stalls located on the roadside. The fires completely destroyed the stalls and all their contents.
