This attack is the second of its kind to the same farmer at the beginning of the current year, in February,2nd 2025, the pool was ravaged, causing serve damage, prior to that the pool had been demolished on the pretext of building without a license in 2001, but the farmer rehabilitated it.
The affected farmer told to the researcher at LRC as follows:
‘’ Agriculture is considered a main source of income. These are irrigation crops depend entirely on water supply. However, the occupation relentlessly targets my water source. They have destroyed an agricultural pool in three times, each time claiming it was unlicensed even though I have prepared all the necessary legal documents, obtained the official papers, but they need to destroy the agricultural. They aim to destroy and damage the agricultural and water sectors, causing serve damage in anyway and that what the occupation forces officers told us, they need to forcibly displace us and turn the area into devastated land, unfit for agriculture.’’

Targeting Agricultural Lands and Demolishing Wells:
Targeting agricultural lands and demolishing wells is a blatant violation of Palestinian environmental rights. When the occupation demolishes retaining walls, it leads to soil erosion and deterioration, destroying vegetation and increasing desertification, which negatively impacts green areas and agricultural land. According to field research by the Land Research Center, during the first half of 2024, 17 walls or stone terraces totaling 3,250 meters, protecting over 25 dunums, were documented as having been demolished.
According to the Land Research Center’s field team, during the first half of 2024, the occupation army demolished 113 wells, water tanks, and artesian wells with a capacity of 3063m3 cubic meters, and destroyed 9 water lines totaling 2525 meters. These wells irrigated 2172 dunums of agricultural land, resulting in the destruction of crops due to the loss of irrigation sources.
Settlers’ attacks on Palestinian water resources have intensified. The Land Research Center reports that settlers have destroyed or polluted/looted 18 water wells, 121 water tanks, 810 water cisterns, and confiscated 20 water pumps, 14 water networks totaling 2950 meters, and 7 water springs.
