LRC conduct a field tour to “Secure the Palestinian Right of Land & housing” project activities sites/ Bethlehem governorate

Tuesday, October 15,2019 , Land Research Center conducted a field tour with number of local Journalists to activities sites of “Secure the Palestinian Right of Land and housing” project in Ar-Reef Al-Gharbi area -Bethlehem.

At the beginning, the 15 journalists gathered in Al-Khader municipality, and were received by Mr. Iyad Issa, representative of Milad – the legal aid unit established by LRC in Al-Khader municipality , and representative from LRC : D. Mohammad Al-Slaimiya – Project director, and Mrs. Inas As’ad – Project coordinator.

The participants went to Al-Walaja village – West Bethlehem, and met the village council head Khader Al-A’araj who welcomed them, and talked about Al-Walaja village, its history and the Israeli violations against the village.

 The tour participants headed to a clinic threatened of halting work and construction, which is a case adopted by LRC. Then, they reached to Hassan Salah house that is also threatened of halting work and construction, the case is adopted by LRC as well.

 Mrs. Rana Salah -Hassan’s wife – thanked LRC and Milad office in Ar-Reef Al-Gharbi for their cooperation in preparing legal files and adopting their case, she also talked about the family’s continuous suffering after a settler seized a land in Al-Makhrour and started carrying out provocative tours in the area that lacks for even an appropriate electricity network.

Mr.Khaleel Mu’amar – Ar-Reef Al-Gharbi services council head, talked about legal aid units “Milad Offices” role in light  of Israeli wave of attacks and military orders.

The tour was concluded in Al-Makhrour area west Beit Jala , to a location close to the plot seized by the settler, who quickly transformed it into a fenced  outpost , while  on the other hand, The Israeli occupation and their bulldozers demolished Al-Makhrour restaurant that belongs to Ramzi Al-Qaisiya.
