Date: July 13th 2021.

Perpetrators: The Israeli so-called Civil Administration.

Victims: five Bedouin families at the area.

 Description:

 Tuesday, July 13th 2021, The Israeli building inspector – The Civil Administration accompanied by an army force raided Maghayir Ad-Dair southeast Deir Dibwan, and targeted structures with halt of work military orders on the pretext of building without a license in C area.

According to the military orders, the occupation sat July 26th 2021, as the date of the building and organization council session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structures.

Ahmed Al-Malihat (46) told LRC:

“We’ve been living in Maghayir Ad-Deer for more than 44 years, in early 90s we’ve got a detailed plan to live in the area, but the Israeli Occupation came back and distributed military orders to many  families, noting that Al-Mlihat clan origin back  to Al-Ka’abneh clan.”

In January 14th 2015, LRC field researcher documented a demolition operation that targeted three Bedouin families at the area.


‘Arab Al-Malihat Bedouin community:  

‘Arab Al-Malihat community locates itself east Deir Dibwan in an area also known as Maghayir Ad-Deer . The community composes of 250 families (population estimations rise to 750 people), living in basic structures and Shacks ,and depend on cattle breeding as a main source of income , ‘Arab Al-Malihat have been residing the area for more than 35 years.

‘Arab Al-Malihat go back to the Naqab desert, but they were forcedly displaced in 1948 to the West Bank , they practice a Bedouin life style dwelling between the dessert and cities to search for water and postures. In the 80s, ‘Arab Al-Malihat were forcedly displaced from Al-‘Arqa area east Deir Dibwan to Maghayir Ad-Deer 7 km away , where the occupation claimed that the area is a closed military zone. However, now they are under threats of going through forced displacement once again.
