Violation: Stop Work and Halt of Construction orders in Husan.

Location: Husan town – Bethlehem governorate.

Date: November 18 -2018.

Perpetrator: The Israeli occupation civil administration and army.

Victim: Citizen Ra’afat  Hamamra and Naser atieh.

Description:

The Israeli occupation forces raided Husan town in November 18 -2018, and served Stop- Work and Halt of Construction orders on 2 structures, on the pretext of building before getting proper licenses.

The orders said that December 3 -2018 will be the day of the subcommittee session to decide the fate of the notified structures.

Affected citizen Ra’afat Hamamra told LRC observer:

“ I started constructing two stores with an area of 180 m2, attempting to build residential apartments building, but the occupation ordered me to halt all the constructions. I will not stop, It is my right to build in my land”

The military order on Ra’afat’s structure

The plot of the notified structure is close to the main road used by settlers of “Betar Illit” , “Gilo” and Jerusalem, that’s why the Israeli occupation is denying Palestinians of the area from their right of building in their own plots, claiming that their measurements are for security purposes.

In the same context, The Israeli occupation forces headed to Naser Ateia and served Halt of construction order on his house, the targeted house lies in the main road as well..

About Husan:[1]

Husan is 10 km west of Bethlehem and is edged with Wadi Fukin (west) Nahhalin (south), Wadi Rahall (east), and Battir (north).

It has a total area of 7360 dunums, 801 of which are built-up area. The Israeli occupation confiscated 2759 dunums to build Betar Illit and Hadar Betar colonies. Besides, bypass number '375 devoured 180 dunums.

The Apartheid Wall destroyed 124 dunums of Husan lands and isolated 150 dunums.

According to the 2017 statistics, the village population is 7048 people.

According to Oslo Accords, 14% of Husan is under Area B (PA is in charge of civil matters with Israel responsible for security). However, most of the village lands (86%) is under Area C (Israel maintains full security and administrative control). Here are the area in dunums:
