Location: Al-Mughayer Village / Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.

Violation date: April 27, 2022.

The perpetrator: the so-called custodian of government property of the Israeli Civil Administration.

Affected party: farmer Yaser Hamid Hajj Muhammad.

The violation details:

On Wednesday morning, April 27, 2022, the so-called Custodian of Absentee Property in the “Israeli Civil Administration” notified the owner of an agricultural plot in the village of Al-Mughayer to vacate it and sestore it to its original status within 72 hours.

The area of the targeted plot is 4.3 dunums, and the military notice was placed next to the plot and bears the number (1172). It was issued under the pretext that the target plot is classified as state land and should be vacated immediately.

The targeted plot of land is owned by Mr. Yasser Hamed Haj Muhammad, 56 years old, a resident of the village of Al-Mughayer and a breadwinner of a family of 8 members, including 4 females and 2 children.

The affected citizen, Mr. Yasser Muhammad, told the Land Research Center's researcher the following:

"Me and my brothers inherited a plot of land  from our father and we have been cultivating it over the past years with various field crops. We own the required official papers of this land which is located in close proximity to a random Israeli colonial outpost and we are constantly subjected to harassment by settlers. This year, we planted it with fifty olive seedlings, but, we were surprised by the issuance of the Israeli military notice claiming that the land is state land. In response, we have assigned a legal body to follow up the case, and we are determined to defend our land at all costs".

The village of Al-Mughayer is considered one of the areas most affected by the occupation atrocities, as it is besieged by the settlement of Adei Ad from north and west, the bypass road known as “Alon” from south and east. These atrocities, also, include constant and systematic attacks against farmers and sheep herders, the destruction and bulldozing of cultivated land and tree uprooting.
