On the morning of Monday, May 9, 2022, the Israeli occupation army, accompanied by the so-called construction inspector of the Israeli Civil Administration, stormed Khirbet Ainun, located to the east of the city of Tubas. The occupation army proceeded in demolishing and leveling a 90-square-meter concrete house under construction, owned by Kamal Fares Abu Mutawa (45 years), the breadwinner of a family of (5) members, including (2) children and (1) females.

It is noteworthy that the demolished dwelling was notified on 4/5/2022 AD through a military notification bearing the number (21686), which includes the order to immediate demolition and removal of the building within a period not exceeding 96 hours, this is based on Military Law No. (1797), which does not allow the affected people to object to the demolition or removal order.

It is noteworthy that the house is located in the middle of an agricultural area that was and is still being used for various field crops. It does not pose any threat to the occupation, knowing that it is not more than 150 meters away from the targeted housing. Three years ago, the occupation demolished there a pool for collecting water with a capacity of 1,000 cubic metres. To provide irrigation water for about 200 dunums of field and irrigated lands in Ainun Plain.

During the past years, the field researcher monitored the occupation’s demolition and destruction of many agricultural rooms and agricultural facilities, including the demolition of three pools to collect water, and the targeting of the water lines that feed the Bedouin communities in the area, which negatively affected the entire agricultural sector in the region.

It should be noted that Khirbet Ainun is located 4 km east of the city of Tubas, where the lands of Khirbet Ainun are an extension of the city of Tubas, where a number of Bedouin families live, they live a primitive life in the area and depend on sheep farming and agriculture as their main and only source. Khirbet Ainun are militarily closed areas used by the occupation army to carry out military maneuvers in them, while the residents of the area are prevented from using their agricultural lands there. While the residents of the area are denied the use of their agricultural lands, most of the agricultural lands in Khirbet Ainun are militarily closed areas that the occupation army uses to carry out military maneuvers.
