Mr. Suliman Abu Dahouk to the LRC researcher told as follows:

‘’We live in Aqabt Jaber area over past years and we rely on livestock and considered our only source of income, a few days ago, I received a notice to evict the area under the pretext of state lands although our existence over past 25 years, but we determine to remain. Afternoon Tuesday, we shocked that the occupation raided the area and demolish all what we own, they don’t leave to us anything included barracks, in addition to water tanks and poultry tent. Our loss is large, in particular the birth of the sheep in this period and there aren’t any bricks to us in the area”.

It's worth mentioning that Arab Abu Dahouk community near Aqabt Jaber camp, previously, the occupation demolished all the properties in 2018. Today, what remain to them from barracks and properties were demolished, noted the location that live in locate just a few meters away Al Fered Yareho located on Jericho lands.

The actions carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities in demolishing Palestinian homes and structures constitute violations of international and humanitarian law, as well as a breach of the right to adequate housing, a right guaranteed by international law and treaties. This is evident in the following articles:

  • Article 17 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, dated December 10, 1948, states: "No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property."

Fourth Geneva Convention / 1949:

  • Article 53: The occupying forces have no right to destroy individual or collective personal property, or property belonging to individuals, the state, or any authority in the occupied country.

Lahay Convention / 1907:

  • Article 46: The occupying power may not confiscate private property.
  • Article 55: The occupying power is considered a manager of lands in the occupied country and must treat the country's properties as private property.
