Since 1967, the occupation has been implementing a policy to create de facto on the ground that are almost impossible to change with time. The Israeli occupation used the so-called "State Land" classification according to the Ottoman Code to take over lands and offer them for Colonies Councils in the West Bank. Not only, the occupation even transformed private lands into "State Lands" on the claim that they are being unused or left.
According to the international law, lands that are classified as "State Lands" must be for public use of the occupied people not the occupiers, since they do not own the land. But in reality, it is the contrary, the occupation bans Palestinians from construction and designates "State Lands" for colonies and army infrastructure. This led 94% of "State Lands" in areas classified C to fall under the control of Colonies Councils.
Land Research Center sees Israel continuous expansion on colonies in the West Bank and Jerusalem at the expense of Palestinian and lands a flagrant violation of Human Rights and all international laws and conventions, which prohibit disposition of public properties in occupied countries.
