“Eli” colonists burn 30 olive trees down in the Nablus village of Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya

Violation: torching trees

Description:

According to Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya rural council, a fanatic colonist from “Eli” colony on September 26, 2018 intentionally set fire to olive trees by the main road and on the entrance Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya village. It should be marked that tens of villagers rushed to extinguish the fire, it reached out 3 dunums leaving 30 olive trees dead , the torched trees belong to Hassan Daraghmeh (16 trees) and Abdulrahman Daraghmeh (14 trees), the trees were burnt just before olive harvesting season in October 12 , the farmers lost trees and olives of this year’s season.

Financial losses are estimated to reach 10,000 dollars of olives and olive oil for only this year.

Al Lubban ash Sharqiya[1]:

The village is located 22 km to the south of Nablus city, and is located at the southern borders of the Governorate. It is surrounded by numerous Palestinian villages including Eskaka, Qaryut, Salfit, Sinjel and many others.

the village total area is 15,637 dunums including 255 dunums of built-up area, or projected built-up area.

 The village lands are plain fields planted with vegetables and cereals annually, The rest of its agricultural area are fields planted with prunus and olives.

The village is inhabited by 2640 people in 2017 census.

 Israeli occupation devoured 1670 of the town’s lands:
