• Date of violation: 27/06/2022.
The perpetrator: the so-called custodian of the government property affiliated with the Israeli Civil Administration.
• Affected party: the residents of the village.
The violation details:
In the early morning hours of Monday, 27/6/2022, the so-called custodian of the government's property of the Israeli "Civil Administration" raided Khirbet Ibziq, located to the north of the city of Tubas. The Israeli army imposed total closure on the village and prevented human rights activists and jurists from entering it. Then, they started to confiscate assets from the village council’s headquarters and demolish it along with other agricultural facilities owned by Mr. Abdul Majid Oqab Khdeirat using a civilian bulldozer and a truck to transport the confiscated material to a nearby Israeli military camp.
According to the field follow-up at the site of the violation, the damage included the following:
• The demolition of a caravan and a concrete floor on an area of 60 square meters, belonging to Ibziq Village Council. The caravan was provided with the support of the French ACTED Foundation.
• The destruction of a camera belonging to the village council.
• The destruction of a computer provided by the Local Government Directorate for the council.
• The destruction of a mobile bathroom provided by the Palestinian Hydrologists Group.
• The destruction of a plastic water tank capacity of 2 m 3 belonging to the Council.
• The destruction of 2 solar cells, and confiscation of the generator.
The damage, also, included the demolition of the facilities of Mr. Abdul Majid Oqab Khdeirat, who is the breadwinner of a family of 7 members, including 3 females and 3 children. His losses included the following:
* The demolition of a tin kitchen barrack with an area of 16 square metres.
• The demolition of a housing tent with an area of 24 m2 provided by the Colonization and Wall resistance commission.
• The destruction of a plastic water tank with a capacity of 2 m3.
• The demolition of a concrete water tank with a capacity of 50 m3 used to provide irrigation water for an agricultural land of 9 dunums planted with olive groves.
• The destruction of drip irrigation water pipes with a length of 150 meters.
• The destruction of a mobile health unit donated by the Hydrologists Group.
• The destruction of two solar cells and confiscation of the transformer.
• The confiscation of a diesel electric generator..
It is noteworthy that Khirbet Ibziq has been subjected since the beginning of this year to a number of demolition and confiscation campaigns of residential and agricultural tents, under the pretext of being located in a closed military zone. A petition was presented to the Israeli high court by the affected people in an attempt to stop these campaigns but to no avail.
A glimpse on Khirbet Ibziq:
According to the village council, Khirbet Ibziq is currently inhabited by 13 Bedouin families with a total population of 110 individuals including 9 families who reside in the area permanently, and the rest are seasonal residents (nomads) who move from one place to another in search of water and pastures . The area of Khirbet Ibziq, according to the village council is 8000 dunums, of which 5,000 dunums are classified as treasury land of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Bedouin residents are not allowed to use them because of the repeated attacks by the occupation army, the latest of which was the demolition of facilities as mentioned previously.
