Description:

Friday, January 13th 2023, the Occupation municipality in Jerusalem forced citizen Harbi Ar-Rajabi to demolish his own house in Wad Ad-Dam in Beit Hanina town. This is not the first time , ten years ago the occupation demolished a house that belongs to him with a total area of 150 m2, and today they came back to demolish another part of it that has an area of 80 m2, that he had never moved to yet , the owner built it as an expansion area for his house that composes of 3 room , and supposed to be a home for a family of 9 , among them 7 children and 3 females.

Citizen Ar-Rajabi told LRC: “only a week ago from the demolition, I received the first notice and was told to demolish the house in a week , or otherwise the municipality will show up and demolish the building and make me pay the costs that escalated to tens thousands of shekels that I don’t have at the moment.

Noteworthy, the house demolished 10 years ago cost 150 shekels for the construction , and I paid fines that amounted to 70 thousands , and once I finished all the payment , the occupation bulldozers showed up and demolished the building in one week.”

Ar-Rajabi asserts: “I filed several times for a licensing order , and I paid for a lawyer to prepare a legal file with the necessary papers , and I had to pay 70 thousand shekels of fines , and after everything I paid , they pasted a demolition order in the gate a week ago.”.
