Stop-work military orders on a room in Qusra town/ Nablus

Violation: stop-work orders.

Date: July 3, 2018.

Location:Qusra town/ Nablus.

Perpetrators: the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration.

Victims: Musa Hassan Family.

In July 3, 2018, the Israeli Occupation Authorities issued stop-work orders for a room in Qusra town on the pretext of unlicensed construction. Affected villager said the officers of the so-called Israeli Occupation Civil Administration showed up and placed the order on the targeted room, took pictures of it, and left. The order number (050443) said that the structure was built before acquiring proper permits and demanded immediate stoppage of construction. They also set July 23, 2018 as the date of a hearing session to be held at Beit El military court to decide on the fate of the room.

Affected citizen Musa Hassan (65 yrs) told LRC observer:

"I went to my land with my family (8 members) afternoon July 3, we reached the room built in my land (35 m2), We found the military order placed on the room door, I immediately called the mayor to ask how to object on the military order and he contacted us with Al-Quds center for legal consultants, they now follow up the case"

It is located 23 km to the south of Nablus city and is administered by Qusra village Council. Qusra is surrounded by Jurish (south), Talfit (west), Majdal Bani Fadil (east), and Mizpe Rachel colony (south).

Qusra is inhabited by 5418 people according to 2017 PBS population projections. Its total area is 8886 dunums that include 775 dunums of built up area.

The Israeli occupation confiscated 223 dunums of the village lands for the sake of:

Migdalim colony that devoured 155 dunums. It was built in 1984 and is inhabited by 152 colonists.

Bypass road no. 508 that took over 68 dunums.

According to Oslo Accords, Qusra is divided into area B (4323 dunums) and area A (4563 dunums).
