Violation: Serving stop-work order on a facility for sawing stones.

Location: Marah Rabah/ Bethlehem governorate.

Victim (s): Mohammad Shalaldeh’s family.

Description:

March 13, the Israeli occupation civil administration raided Marah Rabah town and served a stop-work order on a barracks on the pretext of building before getting a proper license.

Shalaldeh told LRC observer:

“This is our source of income, we are a big family working in stone sawing, but the occupation won’t leave us live in peace”

The military order sets March 28 as the subcommittee session to decide the fate of the place. Noteworthy, the family is preparing the legal file hoping to obtain a license and protect their facility.

It is important to mark out that the occupation planted a metal gate on the town’s entrance to obstruct villagers’ movement; they search citizens and sometimes prohibit them from going in or out the town.

Marah Rabah village:

Marah Rabah is located south Bethlehem , the village is surrounded by Al-Manshiya and Al-Halqum (North) , Wadi Mihammad (west and east) and Beit Fajjar (south).

Marah Rabah has a population of 1729 , according to (2017) census, and a total area of 2451 dunums, of which 158 are physical building area.

In Oslo conventions the town was divided to 2 areas:

  • B area: 1580 dunums.
  • C area : 871 dunums.
