Saturday, February 15th 2020, Child Malik ‘Issa (9) was walking back home from school in Al-‘Isawiya village , while at the same time , the Israeli Occupation police were conducting one of their daily provocative raids in Al-Isawiya.
An Israeli officer shot Malik a rubber bullet , the bullet hit his forehead close to his left eye , Malik fell to the ground.
The moment was captured by a security camera on one of the shops in the area, the video shows that the situation was clear and no clashes were happening, then a policeman out of the bloom shot a Palestinian child in the face, people in the street ran towards the boy who passed out.
One of the passersby took the injured child to Al-Isawiya hospital , where he was taken to the intensive care unit , where it turned out that the bullet broke Malik’s skull , and caused him to lose his left eye.
The occupation forces followed the child to the hospital to question his parents, they immediately claimed that Malik was hit with a stone in his head by a passerby, but medical reports and the videos from the security cameras showed that an Israeli policeman shot Malik in the head. In the hospital, and after two eye surgeries, the doctor had to remove Malik’s eye to save his life.
This is not the first time children are targeted by the occupation forces and policemen, several cases were documented where the occupation authorities intentionally shot fire and rubber bullets on children’s head in the occupied areas and Jerusalem.
The occupation forces are having a normal time, while a child lost his eye which will change his entire life , and maybe it would have ended it.
