 Colonists assaults on Palestinian lands

Human Rights Activist at the Jordan Valley ‘Aref Daraghma told LRC the following:

“Recently, The Israeli Occupation Authorities impose closures on vast areas of lands, on many pretexts including natural reserves and military training areas. Colonists are now imposing closures on the pretext of building a memorial, this step will give the outpost a special significance, and is part of a large Judaization plan at the area.”

The Outpost in As-Suwaida was established in 2017 to the south of Shadmot Mehola illegally built on confiscated lands from As-Suwaida (280 dunums).

The Jordan Valley consists of many depopulated villages as a result of ongoing Israeli procedures and Human Rights Violations, tens of families left the Jordan valley especially after the downturn of agriculture caused by Israeli closures, land seizure, and military trainings.

The Israeli Occupation on the other hand is building colonies on the rubble of the villages. Moreover, while those who stayed are suffering under Israeli forcible displacement policies deprived from basic living, Israeli colonists at the area are enjoying full privileges that exceed those given to colonists at other places in the West Bank.

Israeli Colonial Expansion in the West Bank including Jerusalem is a violation of International Law and Palestinians’ basic Human Rights, which prohibits violating civil and public rights at an occupied territory.
