This settlement is located on the lands of Jabal Mukaber in the Al-Qanbar neighborhood, on the road between Silwan in the north and Jabal Mukaber in the south, south of Jerusalem - the Old City. It was started as a private neighborhood overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem by Jewish investors in the early 2000s.

The project to establish this settlement devoured hundreds of dunams of the lands of Jabal Mukaber village, through confiscation and demolition of homes, so that the Jerusalem municipality could create a large area of land to build that settlement. This settlement began gradually on 114 dunums of the townspeople’s lands, in which about 176 housing units were built for religious Jews in 2017. Today, there is a plan to increase the number of settlement units in it to hundreds, and the occupation plans to build about 400 settlement units, two hotels and a large commercial center Public buildings and a large sports center, close to the so-called Qasr Almuntazah Park, in the heart of Jabal Mukaber.

It is worth noting that the occupation municipality in Jerusalem has targeted the village of Jabal Al Mukaber with all its lands, mountains and neighborhoods with targeting operations for more than fifty years, The settlement of East Tel Piot is on its land, followed by the establishment of the Harmon Hanatziv settlement, in addition to the Oz police station in the front of the village, and the American street project, which will pass through the village and threaten about 120 homes, has continued, in addition to the settlement of Nof Zion that mentioned above. These practices seriously affect life in the village of Al- Mukaber. On the one hand, the occupation prevents the expansion and construction in the village, and confiscates and demolishes homes, on the other hand, and consequently the village becomes an uninhabitable place and Palestinians are forced to either take risks and pay huge money for construction, or abandon the place, knowing that al-Mukaber village is one of the largest villages in Jerusalem.
