Violation: Demolition of Residential and Agricultural structures.
Location: Aj-Jiftlik village/ north Jericho.
Date: August 15th 2022.
Perpetrators: The building Inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration.
Victims: Family of citizen Mohammed Abu ‘Aram.
Description:
The Israeli Occupation continuously targets “Ash-Shona” area southeast Aj-Jiftlik village; The Arbitrary Occupation is imposing restrictions on farmers through prohibiting any agricultural activities at the location, in addition to serving demolition notices for a number of structures on the pretext of building without a license.
The building inspector at the Israeli civil administration and several Israeli military vehicles raided “Ash-Shona” area on Monday August 15th 2022, the occupation’s bulldozers implemented a demolition operation that leveled seven residential facilities to the ground on the pretext of building without a license.

The affected citizen said that the occupation demolished some of the basic structures he works at to provide for his family , noting that the owner received a halt of work notice in Oct 20th 2014 .
The affected citizen told LRC the following:
“When I received a military order at first, we started preparing a legal file , and followed up the licensing procedures , but the occupation forces decided to demolish the structures anyways.”
During the past five years , the occupation viciously demolished a large number of houses and structures in Ash-Shona rendering a large number of families homeless.

It is located 35km to the northern part of Jericho city and is edged by the village of Beit Dajan from the northwest and Massua colony from the west. The village has a population of 3100 people until 2017 and has a total land area of 185031 dunums of which 1110 dunums are built-up area. Noteworthy, the occupation expropriated around 12040 dunums from the village as follows:
3207 dunums were confiscated for the favor of establishing colonies in the nearby.
3328 dunums were confiscated for the bypass roads no. (90, 505, and 508).
5505 dunums were confiscated for the favor of military camps
